Healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the procedure. Some redness that resembles a mild sunburn may last for 2-4 days. Some clients may have redness dissipate within 24 hours. The skin will appear pink or red for 24-48 hours, with some minor bleeding and very occasionally some mild bruising. The skin may also feel warm, tight, and itchy for a short while. Generally, the inflammatory reaction of the skin is short and fades significantly after a couple of days. clients with a more sensitive skin type or older clients may take longer to fully recover. It can take between 6-8 weeks before signs of skin regeneration are seen and the process will continue to evolve over the ensuing months, providing a gradual improvement.
Cleanse the face with tepid water for the first 48 hours following treatment and gently pat the treatment area dry without rubbing. Always use clean hands to avoid infection. Avoid applying makeup products for the first 12 hours following treatment. Your aesthetician will advise you on the use of appropriate, gentle skincare following the treatment.
Many clients notice healthier looking skin right away. However, keep in mind that dermal collagen remodeling occurs over time, and it’s not realistic to expect damage accumulated over a long period of time to disappear right away. Skin takes roughly four weeks to synthesize new collagen, but it is not for 3-6 months that clients can see the full effect of Rejuvapen treatments. We recommend clients receive a series of 4-6 treatments at minimum, depending on your overall goals and the treatment concerns, spaced at least two weeks apart.
